Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue is implementing an immediate suspension of all outdoor burning activities. This decision follows several recent fire incidents in the area over the past 24 hours. Firefighters observed significant fire behavior during these events, which, combined with dry fuels, unpredictable winds, and rising temperatures forecasted in the coming days, has prompted this proactive measure.
While the Central Oregon Fire Chiefs Association had initially scheduled a regional burn ban to begin on June 1st, we have evaluated our local conditions and determined that an earlier closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the Crooked River Ranch community.
Fire danger remains a top concern, and we are committed to providing the highest level of protection for our residents. We strongly encourage everyone to review evacuation levels, familiarize themselves with the latest burn regulations, and create a wildfire preparedness plan for their home and family.
