Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue Announces Opening of Outdoor Burning Season on October 1st

Crooked River Ranch, OR — Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue announces that outdoor debris burning season will officially open on October 1st. With fall conditions returning and fire danger decreasing, residents may resume debris burning in accordance with district guidelines.

New Registration Requirement
Beginning this year, all residents must register their debris burning through the District’s updated online process. To check the daily burn status and register your burn, visit crrfire-or.gov and click on ‘Register Before You Burn’ or download the Before You Burn app. This system provides current burn restriction information and ensures fire agencies are aware of active burns within the community. Because burning restrictions may change from day to day, it is important for residents to use the Before You Burn system before igniting any debris pile.

Safe Debris Burning Reminders
Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue encourages all residents to follow essential safety guidelines throughout the burning season:

• Register your burn before igniting any debris pile, burn barrel, or using a propane torch to burn weeds, grass, or brush.
• Never leave your burn unattended.
• Keep a charged hose, water supply, and hand tools available for immediate use.
• Clear fuels around your burn pile, exposing mineral soil to prevent spread.
• Burn only natural vegetation. No garbage, plastics, or other prohibited materials may be burned.
• Ensure your burn is completely out before leaving.
• Call 911 immediately if your burn escapes or becomes difficult to control.
